Darkest Peru...

Do the Andes really look like this? Looked more like China to me...Does Peru have any jungle? I always pictured Peru as wide open and somewhat barren. I saw that this movie was partially filmed in El Salvador? Does that country really have such strange looking mountains?

Does Peru have any jungle?

Yes: Eastern Peru covers part of the Amazon rainforest.

sylvie, for scenic and 'secondary photography' in a film, it is VERY common for those shots to actually be of places unrelated to the film's storyline. More often than not films don't have enough $ to shoot in the actual places mentioned. So you see Roumania being substituted for London, or Montreal being substituted for Brooklyn, etc etc.

Aside from that, Peru and El Salvador and most countries- have many different geograohies within their borders. Maybe you could get ahold of some travel films and books for those 2 and other countries. You Tube can also show you tons of foreign countries.
