Remember seeing the trailer for this in theaters years ago and thinking it looked hilarious, but I think I remembering getting bad reviews? Has anyone seen it and is it worth watching?

Yes, it's a pretty funny indie comedy. Not as raunchy or outrageous as the trailer makes it out to be, but it's still a really funny movie with a great performance from Coogan.
I think the studio did a disservice trying to push the fact it was written by one of the co-writers of South Park as well as releasing it during a summer with a lot of other successful R rated comedies. I think some people went in expecting something on the level of edginess as South Park which this movie wasn't.
