This was boring...

I was interested in watching this movie because it gave me the impression that it would provide some sort of insight to how we view emotion, or romanticism, or how sentimental feelings of love and how arbitrary they are these days in this brave new world, but it BARELY touched on that. Then for some strange reason it was heavily ladened with a bunch of political and economic commentary. I thought this movie was called 'The GIRLFRIEND Experience' not 'The Socio-economic Experience'

A part of me thinks that's the title DRY-Soda-bergh was going for but the studio kept saying 'no' until he disguised it as a 'different' movie.

I'm not a 'film' guy; I don't slobber over Kubrick and I need to hear/watch an in-depth analysis to appreciate these 'high brow' movies or else I would continue to hate them for how boring and strange they are, but this was just wrong.

It's really not that big of a stretch since this is shot from the underbelly side of life experience. This is not the usual view presented by mainstream cinema. They have a plethora of love stories from the incredibly rich to the incredibly poor, from superstar to societal reprobate. from high falutent to junkies & alky's... from fraternal disorders to farces... But few "REAL" life dramas of the subculture of present day society to which feelings and opinions go on very much unexplored. These feelings and opinions are more often suppressed rather than expressed because our 'society' believes so much less of said culture that it often goes ignored or deemed irrelevant to popular feeling or opinion. I kind of enjoy the view from this other side for I believe it makes me a much more compassionate person toward the world around me. This is just my take on it but everyone will walk away with their perspectives of the message within. There was something for everyone no matter what side of the fence you were on in 2008, hence the socio-economic backdrop.

Dislike what UR viewing _what UR hearing _whatever's happening! U could go elsewhere or turn it off
