Hard to tell, her big dramatic scene with the boyfriend is shot with her behind a sofa. Mostly, she's pretty blank during the film. The one thing she did do right was crying when the guy won't meet her at the weekend getaway. And even that seemed TV movie of the week. I hear she's in a horror movie next.

Great question. I was actually blown away by the role she played. It seemed very realistic to me (unlike her "other" roles). Although her character did not have a lot of depth, it was for good reason because that's who her character was - someone that has built an emotional barrier to protect herself. I won't spoil things for you, but her barrier doesn't really "break" until the end of the film and I found it to be honest and genuine. However, I find this to be the case likely because of her own life as an adult film star and I find that it might be hard for her to transition into a role completely void of anything sexual. This is not a true test to her acting skills, but I must say, better than I assumed and better than any other adult film star has done prior.

That is just what she needs - a horror film role b/c everyone knows that the Oscars cater to horror films! She just needs to find good directors that won't make a mockery out of her if she wants to take this seriously.

Uh, kinda difficult to answer. But in certain scenes she was good. Don't know why others are so pissy about her. She's a natural on camera, it shows. Definitely got a presence. The BF was invisible in their scenes together.
I think she got something going on. Lets hope we get to see more of her in future. Most critics seem to like what she did here.
If she chooses her Directors well she'll hit it. But what Hollywood actor agree to be cast opposite her in the lead? She'd be too intimidating.

shareI was particularly touched by the scene where she was describing the disgusting guy who wanted to swab her vag. That pained expression looked like a genuine emotion. According to Soderbergh, it only took six takes. That's a lot better than some actors (I'm not going to name names) these days.

I think Sasha is not very good actor and that is why she is good for her role in this movie. The escort she was playing was not best in her field.

shareOHMYGOD...either she's great or a horrible actress. either way..she was a awfully dull person in general. the boyfriend sounded like he was gay (no offense but the actor just didn't seemed to fit that boyfriend part). the plot was awful...not sure why i rented this movie but it just didn't make me feel anything other than...what a dull person and lifeless life she's leading. no redeeming quality in the entire movie and i'm not anti-escort service either.
