Was it just me...
...or did it seem that the message of this movie was that everybody is a hustler in their own way?

shareNot just you, Derek -- that's exactly what hit me, that everyone has their lists of what they're willing or unwilling to do to get ahead. Whether it's "Chelsea," her boyfriend or her clients (or the interviewer), everybody, to some extent, has their price. And the price of the person next to you on the bus (and what that price buys or doesn't buy) might surprise you. Because at the end of the day, we all need food to eat and a place to sleep and the need to feel we're moving along.
Or, to quote Omar talking to the lawyer on "The Wire," "I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?"

I don't know. People were saying things, but most of what they said just didn't seem very meaningful or significant to me. Random comments and opinions that anybody might say.
shareto me, i felt the message was, no matter what you do we are all in the same boat.
Chris is struggling with the training and his sales, Chelsea's clients are scheduling less appointments. Everyone i s hurting financially, and unsure of the future.
In the end she reveals that stuff about the writer to David, because every now and again she needs to talk and be re-assured. Since her Bf had left, she just had client a to talk too.
I thought the same thing.
