Women who have affairs with married men

Are insecure, neurotic narcissists. Why would a basically decent man trust a woman like that? Whew, the Leonard character definately would sooner or later offed himself if he'd ended up with the likes of someone like that. Just sayin.

Everyone really knows, You have fun with women like the Michelle character, you don't marry them, you marry women like Sandra.

Not necessarily. Sometimes two people with problems can be really good for one another, whether in friendship or love.

There's a reason why ex-alcoholics and ex-drug addicts are often friends with other ex-alkies and ex-dopers. They understand one another, are comfortable with one another and function well with one another.

There are also things you can talk to them about that you can't talk to others about. You can open up with them about certain things.

For example, I have an anxiety disorder I hesitate to even admit that I have to other people, let alone discuss. If I met someone who had the same thing, I'd let my guard down.

Not that Michelle wasn't an empty headed party girl screw up. And not that Michelle wasn't big trouble for Leonard. And not that their relationship wouldn't have lasted about 5 minutes.

Apart from her being "someone with problems", there'd be a trust issue. I thought the affair was very well portrayed - he (the married man) was the control freak, housing his mistress and keeping her where he wanted her whilst still enjoying the fruits of his family life, she the vain but deluded plaything, desperate for the relationship to be validated (by getting Leonard to come along and approve of it).

The guy may have been really nice in other aspects of his life and kind to his family but because we knew what he was doing (using the visits to his mother as a cover for instance) I could only see him as despicable. When he did jump ship (for how long?) it was only when his mistress put a gun to his head - Leonard being the unknowing catalyst.

As with most affairs, both parties came across as fairly pathetic characters, severely lacking in certain areas of their personalities.

Too True. Look at Leann Rhimes and Eddie Ciprian. There's no whitewashing a cheater.

I kinda felt the same thing, she had no class at all, not for the affair but not really knowing just what she wanted and dumped another guy after playing him. A guy that would have at least been better for her then a married man. She seemed very shallow for her age, also the married guy will dump her before long was what I took out of him getting her back. On the other hand I felt he would learn to except his new doormat wife as she did not expect much out of him and seemed to want the union despite his flaws.

Seems like the married guy could support the lifestyle she was brought up and he was good company plus she really wasn't into commitment... she wasn't expecting the guy to get divorced... he tried to sell that dream to her so she wouldnt leave him... she got trapped in an affaire and not really in love at all... seems she entered the affaire casually not expecting anything... But he would pamper her..
