Has anyone read anything recently about whether or not Mena still intends to complete this trilogy with his actual sequel to Malevolence? And whether it will be his next film or if he'll do something else first (like with Brutal Massacre)? Just curious.

He's writing the the third and last script now...and if I am not wrong (which I could be), the third film may be in pre-production now =]
