Ugh..same old character motivations and 1980's police work (spoilers)

1. Character Motivations:

--It makes a movie like this very boring when the character motivations are nonsensical. "Oh, I see a kid in a window, let me go and break into this house and keep going deeper and deeper into what's turning out to be a crazy farmhouse."

--Of course the victims don't try to actually kill this crazy guy. They fail to pick up weapons (or they just put them down) and fail to finish him off.

2. 1980's police work:

--FYI filmmakers: At autopsy (and even before), authorities can tell the difference between people that have died in a fire and those who were killed and then burned.

These kinds of things ruin movies.
