The movie sucked but there were a couple of good things

- Goku's gi (one of the few things most DB fans can agree on)
- Soundtrack (it was composed by Brian Tyler so hard not to)
- James Marsters with the Piccolo costume looked pretty decent
- Jamie Chung ~ As Chichi
- Joon Park ~ As Yamucha
- Eirko Tamura ~ As Mai
- Randall Duk Kim ~ As Grandpa Gohan

Maybe James Wong felt Goku and Bulma as Asian characters wouldn't have attracted viewers which makes no sense because it's DRAGON BALL!

Goku is an alien obviously, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have human features.

What do you mean "doesn't mean he couldn't have human features"?? He obviously does! Look at how he is drawn! 

I think Goku looking Japanese is probably more of a principle out of respect for his creator than it is the source material.

After all that has been written here, you are still going to be stubborn and claim this kind of nonsense? 

Son Goku is drawn with the same facial features as the Earth characters that are obviously meant to look East Asian like Yamucha and Tenshinhan. So what are you talking about?

I haven't seen anyone complain about Bulma being played by a white actress. Maybe the character is Caucasian. You're probably right about a Caucasian Goku. Like they're trying to attract a wider audience, but at the same time alienating the fan base. But not that it would have made much difference. People still would have hated this no matter who played Goku.

Goku have bigger eyes which shows that he is not an asian. So using an asian actor as goku is a very wrong move. Akira Toriyama was the executive producer so the main character's race has his approval. Plus the fact that he wasn't even human shows he isn't asian.

Akira had no creative input. I think he was credited simply for legal reasons. He has commented that the animated film DRAGON BALL Z: BATTLE OF GODS was an apology.

Plus the fact that he wasn't even human shows he isn't asian.

Well of course he's not 'Asian'. But just because he's a humanoid alien doesn't mean he couldn't have Asian features.
