Nicholas Cage is one of my favorite actors, which is the only reason I didn't give up on this movie. Big mistake. After paying for it (Comcasts On Demand) I realized I wasted my money and shouldn't also have wasted my time. It was obvious before the movie was half over, that it was a huge flop.
Cage was right for the role and the film succeeds because of it. If you were expecting Ghostrider, you'd obviously be disappointed. If you saw the first film, this is right in line with it. A different kind of depravity, but still a tortured man who finds it too difficult to stay on the right side of the law he is supposed to be representing and upholding.
Ok, I have to agree with the OP, we’re 53 minutes into this movie and wishing we hadn’t rented it... I’ve been reading other reviews to see why people like it, don’t know if it’ll help at all, but we’ll try to watch with at least other expectations... Because, damn luck, it’s raining out, and there’s little else to watch on TV right now... hmmm, maybe a little stroll on the rain would be better than staying here watching this... let’s toss a coin and see...
You are completely right , I tried to watch it with a “funnier bone” (hehe) or a different one at least, and I kind of enjoy the second part of it, but I can’t say this is anywhere near one of my favourite movies... I don’t even think I’ll be watching it again for a long, long time.... At least I finish it !!!
