how big is val kilmer's role? (possible spoiler.)

i just ordered this movie, and will probably watch it in the next couple of days, but i'm wondering how substantial is val kilmer's role in it? i know his name is billed as 3rd, but i don't know if that's just because he's more of a well known actor who will probably die in the first 15 minutes of the movie, or what?

don't worry about any spoilers, i just want to know if his role is big enough that i'll like him in it. (obviously, i really like val kilmer; and i'm just curious.)

Not only is he not in it much, he isn't very good for the parts he is in it. He is sleep walking through the role.
