This film is better off labeled as a black comedy.

Seriously. I have NEVER laughed harder at one's stupidity than Cage's character in this movie. The original had NOTHING to laugh about, but this one was a tears-from-laughter fest. From Cage's reaction to accidentally sniffing heroin to him witnessing one's soul "dance". I was just laughing my ass off. Really, there was nothing in this film that serious.

Anybody feel the same?

Yes, it's a black comedy. A very funny one. But Cage haters will insist that it's meant to be serious.

Come on! Who would want to hate Cage?

Cage's acting was GREAT, but the stupidity of the CHARACTER and all was what I thought was funny.

Him and Harvey Keitel are seriously the two most underrated actors of our time.

A lot of people like to hate Cage. It's sort of the trendy thing to do. It's done mostly by hipsters who haven't actually seen his best work.

Yeah, it is a black comedy... A *beep* hilarious one at that. I haven't laughed so much at a movie in a while.
