if you watch the special features on the DVD there is a deleted scene where Kilmer is setting up a practical joke with the other cops. they put the iguanas there and agree to pretend there is nothing to mess with Cage cause they know he is a doper. cops play jokes on each other all the time. they should have left that scene in, lol.

That's interesting. I guess it makes sense that they left that scene out.
shareThat makes sence, because in the shot through the window of the cops standing around you can see the iguanas on the table even before cage gets there.
shareWell I'd assumed he's hallucinating them, but I like the theory about his cop buddies putting them there to mess with him. Just for the sake of accuracy tho, one of them is actually a bearded dragon (native to Australia) and I'm not entirely sure about the green one either, could be a water dragon. Then again, that one could have indeed been an iguana. Will have to watch it again to make sure- which I probably will at some point, great film! Love how it seems to have really confused a lot of people on this message board as well...
