Felt too similar to...

American Psycho.
A much inferior version of American Psycho.
It was almost like the script was 90% complete, the writers knew they couldn't tie off all the loose ends within 1.5-2hours and decided to rip off the Patrick Bateman ending...

Wow, I didn't think that at all, and I love American Psycho. There are only the vaguest of comparisons to be made between the two films and the intentions of their respective stories. Sure, neither character, in the end, is held accountable for their actions (or perceived actions, in the case of Patrick Bateman), but anything beyond that is reaching (or prove me wrong; you certainly didn't explain why you felt the way you did).

Having just seen this film for the first time, I can't say for sure whether it would be as re-watchable and densely entertaining as American Psycho, but I did enjoy it more than I expected, and I expected to like it quite a bit. Both fine films, yet at no point can I see a notable connection between them. If you did, dare I say you need to expand your perspective on the themes that each delve into... unless you have more(something) of substance to back up this strange position.

"Specificity?"

open your mind, this is a ridiculous statement. Totally different movies.
