Don't get me wrong. Great movie. Loved every minute of it. I just don't know what her character does in the context of the plot. I know she helped get rid of those tickets, but what else did she do that was so important?

She was a mirror to his past. Everyone else had followed along with him, and they were all dirty, criminals, or addicts for the most part. She knew him when he was a better person, and when she realizes how far gone he is, you can see her disappointment.
The way I see it, her role contributes to assert fact that Terence doesn't care for anyone but himself.
