Just watched this for the first time, unfortunately on a library Blu-Ray. Several scenes skipped over, and I think one involved the significance of the spoon that McDonagh gave to his girlfriend. Anyone mind explaining why it mattered?

He had told her that as a boy he dug up his backyard looking for pirate treasure. That spoon was what he found and it symbolized hid innocence as a child.

I though the SILVER spoon mattered a lot for its price. They needed 50 grand.
