And Mallory didn't attend the wedding because the actress portraying her (Jessica Amlee) could not be there. She's furthering her career in the USA now, having left Canada and Heartland.

This... I find it hard to believe that Jessica Amlee couldn't hop on a plane and shoot a couple of scenes. It's not like she's directing the new Star Wars movie or starring in the Avengers. She's not that busy.
You may find it hard to believe, but not everyone can just drop what they're doing, fly to another country, and shoot scenes for an episode.

Unless you are aware of some of her projects that have been kept in an effort to prevent people from knowing that she is actually working.
If she left Canada to further her career, it seems to have been a horribly thought out career move.
They've managed to include plenty of actual stars in important episodes of television shows in the past. People who were actually working. If she were wanted, a nobody like Jessica Amlee could have hopped on a plane home and shot a couple scenes. She could have done it over a weekend.
I stand corrected. Your observations about her life based on her Twitter account postings obviously mean she's not busy doing anything of note.

You're certain she's so busy. Please provide a link showing us how busy she is. Where's the evidence that she's so busy? Do we just have to take your word that she's so busy or is there any supporting evidence? There's nothing on IMDB, nothing on Wikipedia, nothing on her own Twitter account indicating that she's busy.
I'm willing to be corrected but I need to see some proof that she's actually working on projects. I see nothing.

Jessica Amlee should absolutely have dropped the non-busy life she currently has in the USA to spend a day on set in Canada filming wedding crowd scenes that would amount to maybe thirty seconds of actual screen time in order to placate Mallory fans. Because everyone knows how easy it is to hop on a plane and do that. Because actors are always rarin' to go fly somewhere.
Because she's just that un-busy.
And the producers and writers probably knew she wasn't busy, too, so it's a double slap in the face that Amlee wasn't included.

It was strange not seeing her because that was a special moment that even Soraya returned so who knows. Think she still got referred, like, she called them or something.

As far as why she left in the first place, I think the producers felt she was too old and brought in Georgie to basically "reset" the Mallory character to season 1. This probably caused some bad blood. I think she was offered, but refused. This is total speculation on my part.

As for why Mallory left in the first place, I heard it was the actress herself Jessica Amlee who wanted to leave to pursue a career in America. But why she didn't return for a cameo for Amy & Ty's wedding...I don't know about that, some rumors speculate that she was probably too busy with her work in America to come back. That's understandable if she really was busy...I mean, it would've been quite a trip for her to come back just to film a small cameo scene.
The problem is, from all evidence, is she's not too busy with her work in America if her work is all screen work. According to IMDB and instagram and Twitter there are no projects she is currently pushing and hasn't had any projects for a while.
Perhaps she has a job as a teacher or an accountant or something that wouldn't be posted on IMDB.

It's strange that they wouldn't invite her considering she's one of the originals from Heartland so writing her off completely is rather very disappointing. I miss her and Jake.

I hated that Mallory wasn't there simply because she was one of the biggest cheerleaders for Ty and Amy. I can't imagine any reason she wouldn't have made it to their wedding. I guess I should just be happy they gave her a mention.
sharewell, according to Amlee's wikipedia page, the only acting work she's had so far in America since she left Heartland was this 1 TV movie that's based on the true story of the Hannah Anderson kidnapping case...that TV movie was released just last year...but nothing else since then.
When was Amy & Ty's wedding filmed anyway? It might've been around late 2014 or early 2015, the Hannah Anderson TV movie came out in May of 2015, so they would've filmed it at around the same time they shot the Amy & Ty wedding. So it's possible that Amlee was busy shooting the Hannah Anderson TV movie at the time.
