I just started watching this show in Netflix. I'm into the first season. Two or three times the characters have made negative comments about horse whisperers. I've only heard good things about horse whispering. Why the negative attitude?

They need conflict for the show. Amy's methods are not the traditional methods. In the later seasons Amy and her methods are pretty well accepted and she's actually very respected for her abilities.
shareSo it's a horse-world, professional equestrian thing. I read Monty Roberts book, and horse whispering (and Amy's methods) have to be far and away better than the old school, cowboy whip-'em-into-submission methods.
