Just finished McLeod's daughter's and Heartland back to back and .both of them have become my favorite shows now.Both of them are so similar though. wanted to know that the writers of heartland,did they really took some inspiartion from McLeod's daughter's.its even called as new McLeod's daughter's or these similaries just coincidental.
shareI recently tried Mcleods Duaghter and I just couldn't fall in love with it. I watched like the first 4-5 episodes and while I didn't hate I didn't fall in love with anybody to keep going. I'm not sure why I've had so many people recommend it to me.

From doing a little research; Heartland the Canadian TV series is based on the Heartland series of books. The series is about Amy Fleming, a 15 year old girl who lives on a horse ranch in Virginia.
It was written by Lauren Brooke, which is a pen name for Linda Chapman. Chapman is a British writer who was born in Liverpool and now resides in Leicestershire. The Heartland novel series began in 2001.
McLeod's Daughters is an Australian TV show that began in 2001 but has it's beginnings from an Australian TV movie in the 1990s.
