Wasted potential
Coming out of the gates, this film had so much going for it:
* Rachel Leigh Cook looked great and gives a good performance
* the story had great bones (for a Hallmark film)
* the little girl was adorable
* the setting was beautiful
* the NYC opening credits and music set the stage and got me interested from the get-go
The story could have used a little more proofing/editing; it needed a little sparkle, but that could have been made up for very easily if the leads had just had an ounce of chemistry. But sadly they had none. It was so, so bad. I really wanted my reward for sticking it out until the end, but I was just left empty. What a disappointment.
