I overall enjoyed this film, I thought it was funny and original but what was with the homophobic slurs? Was is necessary to use words like that 5 times? Was is on purpose? As a gay man, it's a bit difficult to want to enjoy the film when I hear words like that, Was it supposed to be funny? I wanted to hear some other opinions on that.
shareMy opinion is most people are way too thin skinned these days. The film did not have anti-gay themes or homophobic characters and only used a few colloquialisms for effect. Could they have chosen other words? Sure, but they didn’t.
Someone somewhere is ALWAYS offended by something. Sometimes people need to be less sensitive and pick their moral battles more selectively.
Agreed. It’s just a word.
