who is the Villain?
I predict the villain will be easily defeated in the 3rd act.
shareLooks like Sinister 6 minus Kraven and vulture
shareIf they bring back Gyllenhaal, Keaton and Thomas Haden Church, you have the Sinister Six, albeit with the Green Goblin replacing Kraven. Hopefully they won't use that silly name in any way other than a joking aside, but I can well see them facing Spider-Man off against six villains. I doubt Church will be back, and they will probably use the Scorpion instead of Sandman if the go the six villain route.
shareThat's actually a good number. 2 villains per x3 Spiderverse. Waiting for the day Venom and Spider-man collide (excluding the horrible SM3 emo edition).
shareThere's a first time for everything, but I doubt that will be the case.
share-Confirmed
Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe)
Electro (Jamie Foxx)
Dock Ock (Alfred Molina)
Both Lizard and Sandman are apparently in it from what I saw in the trailer.
-Rumoured
Vulture (Michael Keaton, he can't seem to confirm or deny it, even the character was seen on a lego set for the movie)
Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal, I know he's dead, but bring him back can be possible, the character was seen on a lego set for the movie)
I'd like to see Scorpion back after that tease from Homecoming
But I'd say Goblin will be the main villain.
I've also read that Paul Giamatti's Rhino is the sixth villain. I think that's great, as he got such limited screen time, but I can see the merits of the Vulture or Mysterio.
A possibly fun twist could be Rhino as the sixth villain, and Keaton showing up as the Vulture to fight alongside Spider-Man. They had a complex relationship in the first film, and Spider-Man saved him, and is a friend of his daughter. The Vulture was a working class guy, stealing to give his family and his crew a better life, and I could see him siding with Peter in this one.
