Worthy Sequal

I saw the movie this weekend having seen the less than stellar reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. Now, I did find it too self referential with the whole sub-plot of modals and the use of Warner Brothers within the movie itself. I found myself thinking of the movie Inception at times.

Yeah, there is bound to be fan service with callbacks to the previous entries. However, this is inevitable as subsequent entries in many franchises acknowledge events from their predecessors. Otherwise, the Wachowskis might as well be making a different movie.

My advice for anyone watching it would be to approach it with a unbiased lense and judge it on its own merits. While there are quite a few cringe-worthy moments, I do think it is a worthy sequal.

Easily one of the worst sequels and movies I've seen in awhile. Completely and flat out disappointed in this in every way.

I'm glad someone liked it..

Nice post, you noticed and listed some of its key elements there. Sadly, this website is full of bigots that think their opinions cannot coexist with those of others...

I really didn't like this movie. I couldn't really find the time to rewatch it either, but it inspired me to finallyfinalfind find my old Animatrix Br. I also rewatched the original and some Kurosawa films.

I wish they made another sequel, this time using that classic martial arts movie (from.the 70s) vocabulary they used in the original.

Definitely a nice post, and quite a refreshing one in a place like this (understatement).

While I do wish it could have been better myself, I had no major problems with it and I can’t say that I was letdown overall since I didn’t have super high expectations despite being very excited for it (the trailers were amazing but I proceeded with caution nevertheless). Flaws aside, I found it interesting and entertaining for the most part.
