Trinity’s “Family”

Are Trinity (as Tiffany)’s kids in the Matrix supposed to be her biological children (at least as her Matrix avatar) or are they just Matrix-generated beings that Trinity was made to believe are her kids? If the former I wonder how reproduction works within the Matrix. Like could a man from the “real world” impregnate a person in the Matrix or could a “real world” woman become pregnant in the Matrix and then become pregnant in the “real world?”

My impression is that they were bots and her memory was constructed to think she had history with them. when really they only appear when she needed to be "handled" in the right direction. I'm still unclear if people truly aged in any version of the matrix or if there was a "groundhog day" effect to their lives. Certainly in this most recent version for Neo and Trinity is seems that they pretty much relived a very similar day every day.
