Pretty sure Keanu Reeves is in it.

reply

Yeah he confused the character with his famous line, not the actual character's name.

Mr Anderson is Keanu Reeves.

[deleted]

Watch it again. He is both Neo and Mr Anderson.

reply

You are confusing Agent Smith with what he says, which is Mr Anderson, whilst talking to Neo.

reply

[deleted]

Well they are wrong. Keanu will be in the movie.

reply

Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) calls Neo by his real name Mr. Anderson.

More f’d up than the not-so-well-liked sequels, rite. Lackluster sequels (according to many, I like them myself) that will suddenly be treated like masterpieces... especially Revolutions... once this new one comes out and those already hating on it (particularly the silly ass red pill chumpflakes - lol, the reich adopted the red pill term when it wasn’t meant to represent their bs causes by any means) will say it’s the worst thing ever even if turns out to be a big improvement over the last two. But hey, I remember you! Bro who whines too much about films and everything else (and bro is wasting no time doing just that with this new account). Then again, this is anything but uncommon online.

Well I got an idea - don’t see it! It’s simple as that. Yeah, I know, it’s not so simple for you and all these other actual agenda-driven complainers. Hate watching shows and films these days so one can later rant about them is a thing, after all. #StayMadAndKeepCryingBro

I disagree. Most of current movies are garbage, so worst case scenario, it's not gonna make it any worse. Quite the opposite, Wachowskis at their worst are even better than the average Hollywood movie nowadays.

Could it be woke trash? Yeap, it could. But most modern movies are, so again: that would change nothing. Best case scenario, they can deliver something really good. And I don't think that's impossible. This couple use to go against the trend. And since the current mainstream trend is woke... well, who knows? We could have some nice surprise.

I love V for Vendetta (much more than Matrix 2 and 3). It's one of my favorite movies. And Cloud Atlas and Sense8 are recent and they were actually good.

And there's no risk: if the movie is bad, you just skip it. They created it, so if somebody has the right to try to continue it, it's them. It's not like some asshole is buying an existing non-woke franchise that he didn't create, and then use it to sell woke propaganda (cough, Star Wars, cough Star Trek, cough...).

To be honest, I haven't seen it. Reviews were so bad that I skipped it.

But I think it was so bad because they went full mercenary, which probably completely killed their motivation.

That's why I think the movie could be actually good. Unless most Hollywood directors, the Wachowskis are utterly useless when they go "mercenary mode", and I think they learnt this lesson in Jupiter Ascending. These mates are rebels, and that gives me the hope that they can bring something interesting.

Of course, there's no way to know. Maybe it'll be woke trash, maybe it'll be garbage. But had I to choose, I'd rather take another Wachowski movie than the usual mercenary movie for woke Hollywood.

I agree. Better to be hopeful as well. They can make a good movie. And they've had a long time to write it. The two matrix sequels were squeezed out to fast. And about ruining the franchise? Number three already did that, number two wasn't great either. We got a chance to get this idea going again.

reply

Agreed.

reply

I agree.

It may not be bad but that's all these films ever are, as in sequels from successful films or franchises from ages ago. Just being not bad or worse is about the benchmark for how good these films can be, rather than being real top quality. I wonder what the point is and find it sad that they get revisited with their stars now looking much older. Just let them die and put your resources into something else, something new and different.
