It is definitely an extremely generic plot with generic characters, but the film knows that. It doesn't take itself seriously, at all, which leads to some pretty funny moments. I personally loved all the Carly puns, Carls Barkley! Carlyto's Way! Carly Fries! lol it goes on and on.

I just watched this because it was on Netflix for streaming and I actually love it. It uses a ton of teen movie cliches but the way it does it is what makes it NOT cliche. It's over the top, silly, and cheesy in places but only because it wants to be. I laughed so hard during this movie I can't imagine how funny it would be under the influence of something. I definitely would buy this on DVD.
