Is he talking of only pre-production or will they segue into principal photography ( actual filming) right after? Hugh Jackman is supposed to attend the Feb 27 premiere of CHAPPIE in Berlin. Is he expected to start filming immediately? Maybe part of the reason is to catch the snow, as the movie focus is on ski-jumping?

If filming is really about to start, how will Hugh fit in the rehearsals and the actual concert series for his Istanbul engagement ( March 17-20)?

Previous casting calls had suggested "motif" filming around various German ski areas and villages from March 6 to 18. I don't think it necessarily involves the main cast although it's possible but as you say would eventually run up against Hugh's preparation for Istanbul.

As of today, according to some tweets, Hugh was still in the UK and filming some reshoots for Pan.

Will Hugh be in the early filming? He is still doing CHAPPIE promo ( he is now in Paris, then to Berlin, Moscow...and there is even some buzz that he will be appearing on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show in early March). Plus wouldn't his rehearsals and actual concert series for the Istanbul engagement be likely occurring within 3 weeks or so?

As I hinted at before, my guess is these first weeks are only - or mainly - exterior, atmospheric type of filming (snow!) and that Hugh won't begin to take part in the filming until sometime after the Istanbul concerts.

He left for Paris ( Eurostar instagram).

Maybe the reshoots or just augmentation pickup shots were made on Feb 23?

Per this tweet, I believe he was on the Pan set yesterday (and the two previous days) and then left for Paris directly. Yes, appeared to be the old pirate crew, and I guess they must have used a "bald cap" for Blackbeard.

Filming seems to be taking place, maybe more for the outdoor scenes which would not require Hugh Jackman's presence? He has to complete an engagement in Istanbul ( 4 performances of his one-man show) before he can get on board the filming. Right now, he is winding up his promotion duties for the movie CHAPPIE in New York, after an overseas publicity campaign.

I saw someone tweet that they were skiing today in Germany and hear a lot of people making a fuss about Hugh Jackman being in town. Could Hugh have flown back to Germany already?

Skiing in Germany and apparently some bloke called Hugh Jackman is in town causing a fuss - should I have heard of him?

No way to verify the tweet - but maybe he dropped by to see how filming is going on. Or maybe to film a few outdoor scenes?

Maybe he is on his way to Istanbul - the concert is ten days away, so it is likely they will be in rehearsals fairly soon. It is a new orchestra ( bigger than his Broadway orchestra) so they might need the extra rehearsal time,

I think it is an old message that he uploaded because his hair looks long in the picture, and I saw him on Jimmy Fallon and Live with Kelly & Michael and at his Chappie premiere and he had gotten a haircut.
