The ironic situation
I doubt the the film will touch on the contrasting fates of Eddie Edwards who finished last in both of the indivdual skijumping events at the 1988 Winter Olympics and Matti Nykanen who won both gold medals. Where Edwards has lived a happy life, Nykanen has gone on a path of public self destruction in his homeland of Finland. This has included drink problems, stabbing someone during a finger pulling contest and spouse abuse. Is this truly a case of the meek shall inherit the Earth?
