Celebration of British mediocrity!

Can't wait for the sequel... "The Frank Bruno Story" good old brits where would the world be without your below average, mediocre, everybody loves a loser, penalty missing heroes?

If you were in the city at the time or paid attention you would know that he was far from mediocrity. He was a symbol of the everyman doing the best he could for his country in a time of need. He was our hero, the worlds hero in the olympics. The underdog. See "Cool Runnings" and you'll see what I mean.

Even as a non-brit, I found him inspiring. Certainly he had a sense of humor about it all and could see what some others thought was funny, but he stood up and put forth an effort when apparently noone else would. That's the formula for most moments of greatness, most of which had very little certainty of success.

Maybe it's a cliche to say that one doesn't know until one tries, but at least he tried. There's nothing mediocre about that. I find more mediocrity in the people putting him down for it. They're the ones sending the message "Don't try".

At least Eddie never pumped himself full of drugs like some Stateside athletes or any from behind the iron curtain.
