Olympics must have drawn the true Olympians to the fore. Not only did Eddie not give up on his dream of trying to "fly like an eagle", but it was also the Olympics where the 4 young men from Jamaica also competed to inspire the movie, Cool Runnings! And Jamica is still competing today! I wonder if there were any other stories of underdogs from that Olympics waiting to be told?

Well because of Cool Runnings their story will never get made into a Hollywood film, but there was the Netherlands Antilles bobsleigh team. Their two-man bob was actually the highest-finishing Caribbean team in the bobsleigh that year (and indeed the most successful team from a snow-less country). One of the team also competed in the luge.
