Cameo??

I used to see Eddie Edwards all the time as he worked at the snowdome in Tamworth after his fame died down a bit. I think he is a plasterer now, did anyone spot him cameoing in the movie??

reply

No because he's already said in a number of interviews he wanted to cameo but didn't as he was never asked.

Not a cameo as such, but he does appear. The film includes genuine archive footage of the closing ceremony to the Calgary Games, which shows Frank King delivering his famous line "At these Games, some competitors have won gold, some have broken records, and some of you have even soared like an eagle.", and Edwards standing up in the audience to acknowledge the resulting applause.

Actually, I was mildly surprised there weren't any "proper" cameos (at least, none I spotted), as both Dexter Fletcher and the Proclaimers had cameos in Fletcher's previous film "Sunshine on Leith".
