I know this is a common formula for a feel good moment but they completely ruined feeling anything for it by showing the mom giving her son his lunch box all grown up when he's actually going to the Olympics as opposed to make believing.
Totally agree. Just mentioned it in another thread. Perfect example of marketing people ruining the movie because there're not enough "cool" one liners in it. It clearly looks like a drama but they try to sell it as a comedy, even though it's obvious that the things the people are saying aren't really meant to be just flat jokes.
lol I don't feel anything in the trailer ruins the movie. It's based on a true story, and I'm certain there will be many more touching moments in the film that were not shown in the trailer. Adding the mom scene was actually a nice touch, in my opinion. People watch movies like this to be inspired... not to be surprised by the plot. If you can't still be touched emotionally when seeing the actual movie, then that's on you.
I feel the same. And don't see how that would ruin or spoil anything by showing her seeing him off to the Olympics since it's based on a true story, we already know he's going.
Also to another poster above, yes it is a drama but there is actually a lot o funny/comedic moments within it too.
That's why I stopped watching the trailer halfway through. By that point I was already convinced I wanted to see the movie, and I suspected that the more I watched the trailer, the more it was going to spoil for me. You've confirmed I was right!
