I mean, I watched it knowing main actress is not American and I didn´t see a trailer or promo beforehand so I kind of did not expect much. I was surprised how much I liked it (I gave it 7/10) - I hated her gown, some of the lines (the one "you´re a prince of Castlebury Hall and I am a poor girl from Buffalo" or something along the lines was the WORST for me), the actor who played Milo was oh-so-wooden.... And probably more, but these are the ones I found most irritating.

Anyway, as a cute holiday movie it had some funny parts (the beheaded doll), romatic bits ("It´s our song." "We have a song?" "We have now.") and beautiful scenery.

I am not a fan of Katie MacGrath (I quite dislike her character in Merlin actually) but after this film I look at her at least neutrally :D

I was just a bit surprised how much is everybody speaking ill about it here.

It's an adorable fairy tale that I loved and have watched a couple of times and enjoy it better each time. It's a lovely Christmas movie and romance rolled into one. Sam was adorable as Ashton and - although I don't like Morgana in Merlin - Katie did a lovely job as Jules and should do more of these roles

I liked it a lot. Its a Christmas movie and therefore a feel-good movie. Who cares if all the "titles" weren't in just the right places? The acting was just fine.

I actually DID like it. I always try to grab one Christmas movie from WalMart and this year I grabbed this. Idk why, but I tend to enjoy movies where an American (girl or boy) falls in love with a Englishman/woman. I watched this before work this morning, and after smiling throughout nearly the entire movie, I was in a good mood at work. Ashton is quite a sexy prince, while the American family is just crass enough to be a believable American family against the more naturally distinguished and polished English noble family. The kids were adorable, and the uncle's attempts to get to know them were very believable. The situation that Jules found herself in the beginning was VERY believable, especially today. Kudos to Roger Moore for playing the grieving father/grandfather the way he did. He was gruff enough without being overbearing or scary. So yes, I enjoyed it IMMENSELY. I'll probably even watch it besides during the holidays.

I enjoyed it - I don't have high expectations for Christmas TV movies, so I enjoy a lot of them as a result, but this one was a favorite last year. I watched it again this year (which is rare for me, since I usually stick to new movies).

I hated her ballgown, but the rest of the movie was cute and a sweet romantic fairytale.

It's become my most watched Christmas movie this year, Katie is so lovely! The posh castle setting is also fantastic. Performances may be spotty and the pauper to princess story is nothing that hasn't been told a thousand times before yet it is still quite a charming film.

I liked it. Thought is was cute holiday film. Loved the teaching him to dance scene!
