The dog

Sorry in advance but I watched bits and pieces of this movie. So I saw how Alec Baldwins character said his dog was a service dog. Then the dog freaks out in court and Alec Baldwin has a seizure. Was the dog able to sense seizures coming or something like that? It seemed like the dog freaked out to warn Alec's character he was going to have a seizure and then he ran out the courtroom but I didn't know certain dogs could do that. Was that the dogs job or am I making stuff up?

Yes, the dog's job was to warn the Alec Baldwin character that an episode of epilepsy would be happening very soon. The dog has\d been trained to bark and run in circles when he "sensed" that an attack is imminent. Some animals are just able to sense the presence of something in the owner's body that something is going to happen. I've read that there are dogs who can sense epilepsy, diabetic coma, and other diseases. Just one of the wonderful things that a dog can do!

That's Pretty amazing. Am I a terrible person because that's the only scene in the movie that made me cry?

Dogs are insanely intuitive...I read somewhere (and it may have been mentioned in the book) that an epileptic service dog can also get a special block out of the person's bag to place in their mouth so they don't bite their tongue off during a seizure. They can get help, lick the face of the person to make them conscious after, and steer them away from dangerous areas (like if they were walking outside, so he wouldn't end up in the street). These dogs are amazing...it's no wonder they cost upwards of $20,000!

I wish I had one. But they are expensive

Oh for *beep* sake, do some research on Google. You DO NOT under any circumstance place an object in the mouth of someone who is having a seizure. They will not bite their tongue off.

Sincerely, a woman with epilepsy

LOL, dogs can even be trained to smell people to detect cancer inside them!
I was offered a chance to become a volunteer owner of one recently - they pay all your bills and you adopt the dog and have to take it to its place of work when required - sadly, my mum refused as we already have 2. My 2 dogs and I probably would've turned it into a mongtard within a couple of weeks though - I let them do whatever they like.

We owned a dog once, who smelled a diabetic attack without any training. She was a very sensative dog that was always looking out for the person with the weakest health in the group. We miss her every day, because she passed away back in january.
