Michelle Pfeiffer's billing

Why is Michelle Pfeiffer billed under the title? She could share the above-the-title billing with Johnny Depp. Michelle Pfeiffer is pretty much regular actress, but associating her with Tim Burton, she's Catwoman. This was released 20 years after Batman Returns, but it's still a Burton-Pfeiffer collaboration. Wouldn't it be better for Michelle Pfeiffer to be billed above the title?

Agreed and she didn't have anywhere near the screen time of Depp. To be honest, I'm surprised Eva Green, who was great as Angelique Bouchard, wasn't actually billed above her, as hers was a larger part than Pfeiffer's.🐭

That because on screen credits are in order of cost, the higher you are paid the higher in the sequence you will get. Theses things are also negotiated between cast and studio.

As a broad rule of thumb ...yes, but not always the case, as I think you may note yourself in adding ...

Just my opinion, but I would have thought Eva Green may have been paid more than Michelle Pfeiffer (who hasn't been a major draw card in a film for quite awhile).🐭

I dunno, Eva Green wasn't a huge name back then, most of her work was in French films which most people wouldn't have seen. I think Michelle Pfeiffer would be making more money per movie. But who knows.

She made quite an impact with Casino Royale (certainly with me) and yes, she does work a lot in the French industry. I've seen far more Eva Green films over the past 10 years than those of MP, but yes, "who knows".🐭

Peiffer is old news and lucky she got the part

I guess so! I saw her early in the movie, but she didn't appear in the credits in my RCN guide; was she that unimportant? 
