How is it even possible to make such a terrible movie?

I mean honestly. There are so many people involved, surely someone would pipe up and say this sucks *beep* at some stage. A writer, producer, actor, director, even a bloody extra. SOMEONE.

What's so terrible about it? It's supposed to spoof movies, and that's what it did. What's the problem?

Seriously, the trailer was funny, but the movie totally sucked. the problem is that EVERY movie in the Scary movie franchise was Oscar-worthy compared with the abomination

I agree that the Scary Movie series is far superior (with the exception of SM2), but I don't agree that Meet the Spartans was all that terrible. I thought it was an average, mildly-entertaining spoof movie. Everything is relative. Just comparing it to a superior movie does not make it terrible.

That's the problem. It's supposed to spoof movies. In my opinion it only referenced a bunch of films, which does not constitute a "spoof."

Most of the "jokes" were recycled bits from other movies or "jokes" involving blatantly crass product placement (Referencing a website isn't a joke, nor is is humorous if all they're doing is making a reference with no underlying joke supporting it).

"You've shown your quality sir. The very highest."

It's just about collecting a paycheck. You keep quiet, get paid, and keep it off your resume.

I agree with the original topic starter... how? This was so painful to watch... I couldnt go over 15 minutes. Cant believe this thing was put out there - it completely sucks. Sad show of the times if people will defend this crap excuse for a movie.

The actors and director probably had so much fun making it that no one considered how stupid it would look on film.
Then they got to editing and realized how god awful it was gonna be, but already invested too much money to kill it.
