US version: New (inferior) music and different cut

Just watched the movie on Netflix, and it's apparently the same version that was released on dvd in the US. The beautiful score by Murray Gold has been entirely replaced and 10 minutes have been cut. The songs are also different, even the piano piece that Veronika plays.

Does anyone know why they altered the movie so much for the US release? especially for making it inferior? The original cut wasn't too long, but I guess I can live with a shorter version, but replacing the score!? which everybody agrees was one of the best parts in the movie, that's ridiculous. I know there are copyright issues with songs sometimes, but Murray Gold was hired to write the music for the film, so I don't get it.

The US version is still good, but I really recommend you watch the international version if you can.

this explains why I thought the music score was one of the bad things about the movie while a lot of users on here seemed to have loved it..

Same here - I didn't realize they were referring to something different.

Obviously why some one like rottentomatoes.com, has the movie listed as a 2015 movie and not 2009.
But they should give the listing on their site an overhaul and then call it U.S Version and then explain to their users, that there also is a European version of it, who is longer and untouched.

Glad i have the European version and not the U.S version.
