Never have I hated a remake as much as this one.
Uggg. Horrible! Julianne Hough was atrocious. Kenny Wormald was boring. Dennis Quaid...always a pleasure. Miles Teller? AWESOME.
Teller as Willard was masterful.

I agree. This was horrible. I was eager to walk out but my sister wanted to stay to the end. I caught myself laughing at a lot of it. It just didn't have the same flare that the original did. Which makes sense because this is a story that doesn't work in today.
The 2 things I did like about the movie was Willard he was funny and adorable equally great to the original. I also like The uncle i liked that he was supportive of his nephew unlike in the original.
"I'm not crazy M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for forty years"
I just watched it and yeah...completely pointless remake. They could have just taken the concept without trying to be too much like the original and it could have worked. But by trying to make it too close to its predecessor , it failed to recapture what made the first one great. It just didn't work at all. Though I will say, Miles Teller and Dennis Quaid nailed their roles. Only because of them the movie was watchable.
