Let's remake all the movies from 1984...
my vote is Ghostbusters...whos got something better in the year..1984

shareScrew making remakes. The original is fantastic and corny at the same time. Screw remaking a movie for the new generation -- let them watch the classics!
shareOK Im getting really sick of this.
This thread is called "LETS REMAKE ALL THE MOVIES FROM 1984"
Not one post has followed these directions.
OK again, I pick remaking Amadeus(1984)
Can you people not read or is it you can't comprehend the OP's subject? Talk about hijacking a thread.
More on point, "Splash" from 1984 for me would be a prime candidate for a remake. I'd love to see them pull it off today. However, I'd like for it to be a nod to the original with perhaps the new mermaid being the kid of Daryl Hannah's character. Another I'd like to see done from that year is "Supergirl". It was so over the top campy that it deserves a better treatment. I do think they should leave most of them alone.
Here's a few more that would be nice to update from 1984:
Red Dawn
Firestarter
Police Academy
The Neverending Story
Here's some they should NEVER touch:
Gremlins
Beverly Hills Cop
The Last Starfighter
Starman (or maybe if done right)
The Bounty (Already perfect)
STOP doing remake. Come on Footloose! really it was a dump movie in 1980's.
shareAs for remaking movies from 1984, I vote for them remaking Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. No Harrson Ford, Lucas, or Spielberg. A complete remake with a new cast and crew. Not Raiders of the Lost Ark, but just a remake of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. LOL.
sharewell, they're not remaking Ghostbusters at this point but there is another one coming out.
share2 more movies from 1984 that need a reboot:
Rhinestone. Who will we cast in the Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton roles?
Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo. If we're going to remake a dancing movie, why Footloose? Breakdancing is big right now. I want a reboot of Breakin 2.
There are some classics that shouldn't be remade..like Amadeus, The Natural, The Terminator, Once Upon a Time in America should be left alone...
IMO, "B" movies, or movies that flew under the radar, or flawed movies with potential are the better candidates for remakes... For 1984:
- Night of the Comet
- Dreamscape
- C.H.U.D.
- Monster Dog
- Splash
- The Company of Wolves
-Clan of the Cave Bear
I have decided that I will be okay with any remake as long as they do not ever, ever touch The Goonies. That would be tragic if they redid it and stuck Miley Cyrus in it or something.
