Spiderman director will direct MCU Fan 4
Jon Watts .. not Raimi or the Webb dude
shareNot a very good choice. Other directors like the Russo bros,Jon Favreau or Brad Bird would have been way better for this movie
shareBrad Bird for sure
sharePersonally I don't think Jon Watts can do any worse than the Fantastic Four movies we've already got. In my opinion he's handling Spider-Man pretty well. That being said, Brad Bird would've definitely been my choice if it were up to me.
shareBrad Bird would be awesome. Jon Watts isn't bad necessarily but he's a very safe and bland choice.
shareLet's just hope it's a villain we haven't seen. Maybe Mole Man, Molecule Man, or the Wizard. I'd like Dr.Doom done more like the original comics when they do him.
shareJon Watts is the best possible director for this. The Fantastic Four is where Marvel as we know it began. That comic book kicked off the Silver Age of comic books, and launched the Marvel era. Everything we know in the MCU has its roots in the Fantastic Four.
Watts has perfectly captured the '60s Lee-Ditko Spider-Man in his two films (so far), while seamlessly integrating the story into the larger MCU. That is no small feat! And as nice as it has been to see Spider-Man that way, it feels 1000 times more integral an approach for the Fantastic Four. They don't have the built-in appeal of Spider-Man, and they are a much more difficult property to get right on the big screen. Everything Watts has done to this point suggests he is the perfect choice to accomplish this task.
John Favreau would've been a great choice.
