Rosie was 53?
They say in the movie that she is 53 years old. I know elephants live a long life, similar to humans but that seems old to include her as an act in a traveling carnival, as active as she would have to be.
shareQuite a few elephants make it to 70, so it's within the realm of possibility that a 53 year old elephant could still have some useful time left in it, especially for doing tricks that it learned years earier, and that required no physical strain. It's not like they were using it to pull 2 ton boulders around.
sharei just saw a 55 year old elephant who was quite playful and energetic. elephants are like humans. look at 53 year old humans. some seem to age prematurely and some can run marathons. elephants have been documented in their 80's in the wild, old matriarchs who are only brought down in the end by nature when their last molars fall out.
There's just a possibility that I will kiss a doorknob.
