Missed the part where it is discovered that Rosie understands commands in Polish. How did that happen?
shareJacob is tending an injured Rosie and an injured Camel (Camel's native language is Polish). He tells Camel in Polish to "move his leg." At that moment, Rosie moves her leg. He repeats it, and she moves her leg back.
That's when he figures out she's not stupid or stubborn, she understands commands in Polish.
