WTF Did I watch

I didn't mind the first 2 in this trilogy storyline...

2018 breathed some new life into it and had some pretty cool moments
Kills worked because it just put emphasis on Myers being an absolute tank of a killing machine

Ends...like....what in the fuck man.

-The humor was even atrocious. That part where Laura is talking to Allyson about finding a man that makes you want to rip your tits out? SO CRINGE. Puts "peanut butter on my penis" to shame.
-The inexplainable "heel turn" of Corey. Like what was it? Did Michael teleport his evil into him? It’s never explained. At least we understood Sartains "heel turn" as he was obsessed with Michael.
-Michael being a rogue killer now decides to have a partner? The excuse of Myers seeing darkness in Corey is illogical. You telling me over the course of his killing spree in the last 2 movie, no one else in the town had darkness in them? Half the town in Kills had darkness in them (remember them charging an innocent person from the asylum)?
-The tongue skipping across the record player for the sake of humor? Stupid as fuck.
- The art house finish to the movie showing all the brightly lit rooms contrasting the dark tone to the ending of 1978's room panning - LAME
-The Macys thanksgiving parade taking Michael to the scrapper
-The forced fan service using the sewing needle...cringe
-never explaining why Corey had a seizure on the dance floor and leaves the bar
-What was with the mom of the kid that fell off the 3rd story of the house? She looked like she had some sort of sexual chemistry with actor that played Corey based on the eye contact. Were they getting it on in their trailers between scenes?
-Michael now randomly being some weak cave dweller type creature. Dont tell me "well hes old". Hes almost the same age as Curtis in the lore, yet Curtis is strong, agile, and quick?
-The junk yard boss randomly decided to stand up for no reason when the lettermen jacket kid is ready to shoot fake Myers...then the cherry on top, as hes dropping, fake Myers disappears at light speed...WTF man
-Jamie Lee randomly decided to commit suicide because Allyson left? This strong headed woman thats survived multiple attacks decides she's going to off herself based off an argument with her grand daughter? WTF man
-how quickly Michael was dispatched in the final fight… lame!

Cringey and goofy humor have plagued this trilogy from the beginning. It grates me so much having to watch DGG and co try to be funny. He's a pathetic individual.

As for your second point...yes the implication seems to be that Michael like...possessed and/or transferred evil to Corey. He saw darkness in him and let him live and became co-killers and buddies. It's appalling. Absolute shit. Add that to the whole 'now Haddonfield is plagued by crime and darkness because of Michael' that they hinted at in the beginning. It's so over the top and melodramatic. DGG has no subtlety. When he tries to make a point, like about mob mentality in Kills, he beats you over the head with it and does it in such a goofy way that it's laughable. Pathetic writer/director.

This is the worst film in the Halloween franchise, the worst horror film I've seen all year and probably one of the worst films I've ever seen. I had no faith in this after the goofy shitfest that was Kills but this really shocked me in how abysmal it was.

It’s up there for sure.

In all fairness McBride is very funny when he writes comedies but his brand of humor is so Ill suited for the Halloween universe. Every time the movie tries to build tension they insert a very odd and lame joke in there and the tension dies

Seriously wtf

Yup agree with pretty much everything you say.

-The inexplainable "heel turn" of Corey. Like what was it? Did Michael teleport his evil into him? It’s never explained. At least we understood Sartains "heel turn" as he was obsessed with Michael.

I thought to make this part seem a bit more 'realistic' i was expecting a twist at the end to show the real events of the boy being killed where you see Corey kick the door open and the boy was laughing at him so Corey threw him over the stairs, but it was just an accident so like you say it made no sense to have his character turn so easy.

-Michael being a rogue killer now decides to have a partner?

So drags him into the sewer for no apparent reason waits for him to wake up and let him go!

-never explaining why Corey had a seizure on the dance floor and leaves the bar

Not sure about this one, did he have a seizure? I just thought he was trying to act and dance all weird and wild..

-What was with the mom of the kid that fell off the 3rd story of the house? She looked like she had some sort of sexual chemistry with actor that played Corey based on the eye contact.

Very weird scene that was, and why was she there partying only a few years after her sone was killed on the anniversary of Halloween?!

Michael now randomly being some weak cave dweller type creature. Dont tell me "well hes old"

Very odd to have him living there, hows he been surviving just by eating rats?

-Jamie Lee randomly decided to commit suicide because Allyson left?

I wasn't sure she was going to commit suicide, that was just cos she knew Corey was there cos after she turned to him and said something like. ''did you really think id kill myself?"

On a side note why is Michael now called The Shape and not Michael Myers?

reply

Yeah I give the writers credit for trying something new but ultimately Ends fails on many fronts

Lol at the entire town getting together to drive Michael Myers to the junk yard .. this really doesn’t go well in the Halloween universe. This is something you might do with Jason Voorhees

This is way worse than the Thorn bs.

Fans of this trilogy say they really like how a Wolverine-type of healing bruiser character who can transfer his evilness to others… isn’t supernatural?!

Hungry dogs will eat shit, I guess. Just look at this board. There are people saying Halloween 78 sucked because it was boring, it wasn’t well made, and it didn’t explain everything.

Some people are clearly pretending to like it because it did something different. Badly. And until the end. It’s like they’ve seen how fan opinion has changed about Season of the Witch and they wanna be on the “right side of history.”
