Despite all the hate this movie's getting, this version of Michael was the most badass to date IMO

This kind of reminds me (character wise) of the Friday 13th reboot back in 09: a very polarizing film but when it came to Jason he had some pretty creative and iconic kills. They sort of deviated from him being slow and spooky to more of an athletic version of himself while slightly more tactical. Michael may not have been at this level here but still had some standout scenes that really kept me engaged: using the dead body of the senior as a pin cushion while the wife watched with a florescent bulb gouged in her neck, causing the one woman to shoot herself in the head by opening the car door in her line of fire, decorating dead bodies, etc.

The problem wasn't the kill scenes, it was the shitty story and the stupid character decisions and dialogue

Yeah, I don't dispute that. Just highlighting the character himself.
