Dull teenage boy does good .

Mason ended up being very flat and dull . I'm not sure if it was in his character description or the young actor turned out that why in real life and linklater was stuck with him . Although the kid deserves a hi five for scoring the hotty girlfriend who seemed to dig his lack of emotion .

Mason started off, continued, and ended up in the movie real, having real emotions and real worries, problems, and concerns. It was very moving to me, but I don't need histrionics to feel empathy.

Mason was dull to a lot of people because he didn't have a cruel streak to him like a lot of kids his age. And he was no pushover, either. He stood up to Jim and didn't fall for the girlfriend's berating of him.

He also comes across as very Gay in this movie. He has the same mannerisms as my 18 year old Gay friend. I think Mason and Sam were bad choices for their roles.

He kissed at least 3 different girls. Doesn't sound too gay to me!
