I love that they are trying to give US audience this story, my fear is the way they change plot moments cause of the audience.

So far it looks like they're gonna keep it the same. And yes, it has been done before but it has not been done with this cast, producers and budget. If anything it will be improved in that aspect. The original series was crazy good.
They good some really really good actors for this remake. The only thing that could ruin it is if they A) make it too long (they should stick to the events in the book) or B) they change things for the sake of ratings.
Looks good so far. We'll just have to see. But let's not complaint that it's been done before because SO HAS EVERYTHING ELSE!
... if I recall, the star of the Mexican original, Kate Del Castillo, garnered the affections of El Chapo.
Still, I like this american remake so far. Judging by the trailer above of the Mexican original, the US remake has a grittier feel.
