Excellent
Great acting. Great story. I read the book first. The show is nothing like the book, bot both are really good.

shareHave you seen La Reyna del Sur on Netflix? It has subtitles. Give it a shot.
shareSad when the story of an illegal immigrant responsible for so much drugs, crime, and death inside the USA is considered "good".
This story should show even the most liberal person why we need greater immigration control.
After seeing episode 3 I find the show quite cheesy. It's especially the Teresa scenes, they just feel so non-immersive. Her plot line is weak and boring. It's episode 3 and so far it's just cliches. However the good part of the show is what keeps me around and that's Camilla. It's just that she's such a small part, a side character that will probably be eliminated sooner than later.
Maybe it's just because I don't buy the Teresa character and everything she's in just doesn't sell to me. There are just some things that makes me cringe at some scenes that took place in episode 3. It's like I'm ready to just stop watching and then a scene with Camilla pops up.
What surprises me the most are those very extremely short scenes from future Teresa. WHY DO THEY EVEN BOTHER. I'm just getting more annoyed as I write this and think about the episode and the whole story. They really had something to work with and this is the best they can do? Seriously...
I do like the show and Camilla is ruthless. However why does theresa keep seeing the darker version of herself.
shareRight now, Teresa is flotsam surviving in the big ocean. Her suvvival techniques or skills aren't earth-shattering or miraculous. They are just lessons learned from five years on Calle Sanchez and the short stint with Guero.
As you said, the focus is on Camila. She is the story. What she does, how she does it, and the effect it has on the organization, Teresa will learn from it. The future Teresa we keep seeing are the manifestations of the 'street' wisdom she has gleaned from her observations.
The drug buy was a bit off. The buyer should have been easily spooked with a new face, a potential G-man. Neither seller was frisked for wire.
