Glaring errors

The story was partially set in they city of Culiacan why do they say "Sinaloa, Mexico?" because Sinaloa is more a part of peoples minds? (Sinaloa cartel)? Sinaloa is a state and Culiacan is the state capital, center of the major Mexico drug trade...

Why show Mexico City slums and downtown Guanajuato as "Sinaloa, Mexico?" (Culiacan). Its like saying "California, USA" and showing a run down Detroit slum.

Jesus "Andreadad" street? Andrade? USA Network had nobody to proofread or google the correct spelling of this major street in Culiacan?

How did the characters (Teresa) get from Culiacan to Dallas in such a fast drive? Culiacan is on the west coast of Mexico and Dallas on the other side, about a day and a half's drive away. This suggests Culiacan is a dusty border town, close to Texas. Culiacan is a major city of more than half a million people. Story would of made sense if they were in Phoenix or Tucson or even Los Angeles and NOT Texas or Dallas. But I Guess this is where "the south" comes in in the title...

Is the Queen of the South, Camila or Teresa? Teresa is weak character and Camila is the ballsy one in season one. Theres no need for Camila, the original story was a feud between Teresa and Don Epifanio her benefactor turned enemy.

I know its fiction and just a show lol but I really loved the novel and the Telemundo version was decent, not great because it was still a melodramatic telenovela but I had hopes USA would do it justice, but its just a cheap mix of clichés and drug stories.

Ill just watch Narcos (more gritty and realistic) and wait for season 3.

It's not uncommon for a show or movie to portray a place as one specific spot, as opposed to the entire area. It's probably easier for the show to do it that way. Yes, they probably say Sinaloa if that is more well-known than the name of the city itself.

As for the fast drive, suspension of disbelief. You are watching a show. It's possible it did in fact take them days and you are supposed to assume that, or they just wanted to shorten the time due to the timeline in the script.

I was also wondering if Teresa or Camilla is Queen...I figured we'll find out in a later season.

Overall I like the show. I just thought that 2nd to last episode in which Teresa was really stupid (just driving up to that tunnel in broad daylight and breaking in with no regard for who might be watching) was done terribly and that was pretty out of character for her.
