Good, But Too Damn Long

I'm sure it's my advanced age, but 3+ hours is a bit much. For starters, the first half-hour (the debauchery and carrying on) could have been just as debauched at 10 or 12 minutes. All the elements were fine; the music, the look, the acting (especially the acting,) but it needed a trim. A little off the top, as I've said, and maybe a bit off the sides.

Seeing the length before watching the film was intimidating at first, but the whole thing went by smoothly; everything was there that needed to be. The opening segment needed to be long to introduce the characters and get you familiar with them.

It's definitely overlong and shapeless, but it is fascinating. I'll certainly never forget it, though I don't have much desire to rewatch it.

Yeah. Sums it up well. Technically great camera work.
