We are supposed to forget everything we just seen? (Spoiler)

95% of the movie we seen Hollywood as bunch of amateurs, indifferent to human life, taking drugs, drunks, racist, sexually harassing, nihilists who spending time at lewd parties, ungrateful to their actors, arrogant, haughty and even as psychopaths ... and despite all that, in the last scenes the director trying to convince us how magical and greater than life Hollywood is and all this from Manny Torres POV who seen the dark side of Hollywood and suffer from this industry. It's not convincing.

One element of Hollywood magic he illustrated very well, it's the moment great actors getting into character not matter their psychological or physical condition at that moment (for example, drunk, anxious).

As a general statement I agree with you, but NOT in the context of the movie, my post and probably the Hollywood film industry in general. For few main reasons:

1. The director himself presents the production of Hollywood's films as an amateur form of art (if you can called it that), accompanied by a lot of improvisation and coincidences.

2. Hollywood sell more than just media products, they sell dreams and fantasies, you can understand why the audiences in the movie find it appealing and accept the narrative, but WE and other characters such as Manny Torres see the real Hollywood - for example, the reality of many actors and actress in this industry.

3. This is why I find Manny Torres sitting in the cinema, looking at the screen fascinated like a little boy, a very unauthentic reaction for someone with his history.

The quick transition from the narrative of a morally and professionally corrupt industry to the cinematic magic in the final scene was unconvincing. It is not clear how this turn could not be constructed in a better way in a three-hour movie. It is almost like Chazelle try to be cynical here... and who know maybe he was.
